Weekend Box Office: “Meatballs” Takes the Cake again

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs tops the box office for the second week in a row beating out Bruce Willis and the beloved musical Fame, a very tough feat for any movie but especially for a children’s movie.

Big stars and big ideas are out this week with the new Bruce Willis movie, Surrogates, and big stories like Pandorum, Fame and I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell.

This weekend Tyler Perry reigns supreme once again as I Can Do Bad All By Myself annihilates the competition for the top box office returns. This low budget movie more than doubled the weekend gross of its closest competitior.

9 comes out as the biggest movie this weekend, while Sorority Row, Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad All By Myself, and Whiteout all seem to fall just a little short.

New on DVD: Little else but a resurgence of Cuba Gooding Jr.

This week there are basically no new movies coming out on DVD, it seem to be a week for television, but there are one or two movies being released on DVD that are worth mentioning.

Final Destination tops the box office for the second week in a row barely beating out the romantic comedy All About Steve.
