New Releases on DVD: Transformers and Vampires, plus a little special edition treatment

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen takes center stage among the releases this week but there are honorable mentions with The Tournament, and Blood: The Last Vampire.

Weekend Box Office: Wild Things are in!

Where the Wild Things are beats out both Law Abiding Citizen and The Stepfather which also opened this weekend.

Now in Theaters: Fairy Tales do come true

Where the Wild Things are is going to be the blockbuster hit of the new releases this weekend, as the others do not have the wide appeal and critical acclaim.

New releases on DVD: Propsals and Horror

There is good and bad this week as The Proposal and Every Little Step is released. Horror fans will rejoice as Drag Me To Hell makes it to DVD while no one will be rushing to the stands to pick up Land of the Lost.

Weekend Box Office: Critics hated it, but the moviegoers came anyway.

Couples Retreat which was widely seen by critics as well “rotten” has taken the box office by storm. Surprisingly it more than doubled the second place movie, Zombieland.

Now In Theaters: Ghosts and Couples Therapy

Couples Therapy is the only wide release this weekend but some independent movies like Paranormal Activity are gaining ground and reaching more theaters.

New on DVD: Murphy uses his Imagination and Black goes back…way back.

Imagine That and Year One may have the big stars but Anvil has the story and entertainment.

Weekend Box Office: Zombies take over

Zombieland takes the top slot this weekend as was expected. This zombie filled comedy has a witty script and great acting. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs takes a distant second but still a great showing considering it is now in its third week.

Now in Theaters: Learning to Lie and Learning to kill Zombies

The Invention of Lying and Zombieland are bound to top the box office, but Drew Barrymoore’s directorial debut also deserves some notice as well as Michael Moore’s latest documentary.

New on DVD: “Away” with “Monsters” versus Aniston

Away we Go is released this weekend which means it may be a good night to relax with a good movie and a bowl of popcorn.
