Weekend Box Office: Final Destination continues to make the cut

Final Destination tops the box office for the second week in a row barely beating out the romantic comedy All About Steve.

This weekend’s two horror movie openings, The Final Destination and Halloween II both fared relatively well. The Final Destination took first place with $28 million for the weekend, which comes largely from 3D sales. Halloween II was knocked down another peg by Inglorious Basterds and wound up in 3rd with $17 million.

Weekend Box Office: Once again Tarantino does not disappoint.

This weekend’s box office has Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds suppressing not only Nazis but the competition as well. This witty revenge flick with Brad Pitt managed to steal District 9’s thunder with over $37 million for the weekend.

Weekend Box Office: Humans Welcome the Aliens

It probably comes as no surprise that District 9 beat out all of it’s competition. The amount of hype that was generated for that movie has not been seen since Cloverfield. The movie took in over $37 million this weekend.

After a few weeks of relatively disapointing Box Office returns G.I Joe: Rise of the Cobra brought fans of all ages to the theaters.

In Theaters Now: Something for everyone but the kids.

It is a bit surprising that the kids get no new releases this week, as they flock to the theaters in summer, but they are left with a slew of other choices Harry Potter, G-Force, Aliens in the Attic and Ice Age, are all still in threaters for kids to get away from the heat. For the adults, we’ve got something for the ladies, something for the action junkies, and something if you’re into suspense.
