Gwyneth Paltrow has declared that she is "an extremely open minded person".

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow has declared that she is “an extremely open minded person”.

The A-list actress is currently starring as a Phoebe who is dating sex addict Adam, played by Mark Ruffalo, in new movie Thanks for Sharing.

And she’s now admitted that her open mindedness would help her cope with this situation if it should happen in real life.

“I’m an extremely open-minded person, so I think if it was something I knew I was getting myself into, I wouldn’t let it deter me from exploring the relationship.

“But I think it would be hard for me to be one of those wives who finds out there’s been something going on behind my back 20 years in,” she told Refinery 29.

Gwyneth, who has been married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin for nearly ten years, emphasised that no relationship is the same and so they can’t be compared.

Her knowledge of the situation only stretches as far as playing the character in the movie though, as she’s never had to deal with sex addiction in real life.

“I think that if the idea of being committed to someone is important to you, you begin to value certain parts of your social life over another. No couple is the same, and as such, every couple takes on different challenges.

“I would like to think that I would be forgiving and/or forgiven, but I can’t give an honest answer as I haven’t really experienced that,” she said.

The Wanted reveal that Miley Cyrus felt weird after seeing them twerk.

The Wanted

The Wanted reveal that Miley Cyrus felt weird after seeing them twerk.

The 20-year-old singer is credited with bringing the dance craze from urban to pop music.

However the star wasn’t impressed with the way the boyband perform the move recently.

“To be honest, I still don’t know what it means,” The group’s youngest member Nathan Skyes told MTV News. His bandmate Max George added: “Miley Cyrus said we were the dirtiest twerkers she’d ever seen.”

“I think she said weirdest or most bizarre,” Jay McGuiness corrected him, with Max agreeing and adding that their interpretation just looks awkward.

“Most bizarre, that was it,” Max commented. “It wasn’t sexy at all.”

The quintet recently pushed back the release date of their upcoming album, Word of Mouth¸ to November 4, but the big screen is on their minds as well as music.

They admitted that if a movie was to be made about them Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson should play Max because he’s “massive” like him, and Nathan hopes Sir Ian McKellen would portray him.

However with a naughty reputation forming in the industry about them, the boys wanted to clear up a huge gossip story.

Lindsay Lohan, when she came out of rehab she came to see us, and the day after someone was printing that we went out and got her off the wagon on her first day out,” Jay said about the star who was linked to Max last year. “Not at all, like she was totally cool and we were not encouraging her to be wild. Someone just wrote this huge article, made up quotes, got a source.

“It’s like, come on, leave her alone. If you ever read ‘a source,’ there’s no source, it’s a source-less sandwich.”

Kendra Wilkinson is taking on a hilarious role in hit TV comedy The Mindy Project.

The 28-year-old former Playboy Playmate-turned-reality-star has been confirmed to return to the small screen in Fox’s hit comedy show.

The show’s creator and star Mindy Kaling thinks Kendra is bound to put on a hilarious performance.

“[It’s a] funny little part and my friend Jeremy [Bronson] wrote [it],” Mindy told Us Weekly at the post-Emmys Governors Ball. “A really funny script and she’s in it!”

Multi-talented Kendra has appeared in Larry David’s HBO comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm in the past, and has also taken on roles in two Scary Movie film instalments.

She is supposedly looking forward to flexing her funny bone onscreen once again.

“She will be playing a character,” a source told the magazine. “Mindy is a huge fan of Kendra’s and asked her to do one episode. Kendra is so excited!”

Kendra and American footballer spouse Hank Baskett share three-year-old Hank Jr. together and they have been married for almost four years.

The star recently revealed she and her husband are keen on giving their son a sibling.

“I’m ready,” she told People magazine, of expanding her brood. “I couldn’t be more ready, and Hank couldn’t be more ready. Our souls have connected, even Little Hank’s. Little Hank keeps saying to us, ‘I want a brother and a sister.’ So we have included him in our decision, too.”

Fans scream for Filth star McAvoy

Author Irvine Welsh and actor James McAvoy attend the Glasgow premiere of the new movie Filth

Screaming fans of actor James McAvoy turned out to catch a glimpse of the star at the world premiere of his new film.

Filth, based on the Irvine Welsh novel of the same name, was launched at the Vue cinema at the Omni Centre in the author’s home town of Edinburgh.

James plays the lead role of corrupt policeman Bruce Robertson who is on track for a promotion and is determined to get it.

He causes conflict between his colleagues by exposing their secrets and stealing their wives while his drug habit spirals out of control.

Among those attending the premiere was, Irvine, Jon S Baird who is the film’s writer and director, producer Ken Marshall and actress Shirley Henderson who previously starred in Trainspotting.

Before the screening, James heaped praise on the book’s author as well as the film’s writer/director while fans screamed for his attention.

He said: “Irvine’s writing is incredible, he is unique on this planet and he is a really special and important voice but his books don’t always translate perfectly to the screen if you keep their structure . That’s understandable because they are different mediums.

“You have to fashion a narrative and a structure from his excellent writing, and that’s what Jon (S Baird) has done.”

Commenting on the unsavoury nature of his character, James said: ” I don’t really care what people think of me. It’s just a case of, are people going to want to sit through and watch this guy do such terrible things, and I think hopefully they will.

“Not everybody will because some of it is just too graphic and too dark but hopefully the people who stay after the first five minutes will enjoy it.”

Irvine has co-produced the film and is delighted with the final product. He said: “It is a very very strong film and I think it is going to be a big cultural moment in British cinema. It is a stand-alone movie, I think it really rocks.”

Talking about his inspiration and focus on dark subjects, he said: “I like it when people are having a bad day, in terms of drama, that interests me. When people are having a bad day, they can do silly and crazy things.

“They make the sort of decisions that compounds their misery, you learn more through failure than you do through success.

“So I’m fascinated by failure basically and by the way that we self-sabotage and make the wrong decisions when we are under pressure.”

Filth will be released in Scotland on Friday and the rest of the UK and Ireland a week later on October 4.

Anna Faris on Cloudy red carpet

Anna Faris provides her voice for Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2

Anna Faris has revealed her love of cooking for her family and claimed she’s pretty good in the kitchen.

The House Bunny star is married to Parks And Recreation funnyman Chris Pratt and she loves preparing meals he loves.

Speaking on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2, Anna said: “I kind of am a good cook. I don’t want to brag too much but I really enjoy it and I have a husband who really enjoys it and that is always so fun to cook for someone who eats.”

The first instalment of the animated adventure movie featured a machine that turned water into food, causing cheeseburger rain and spaghetti tornadoes and Anna contemplated the food she would most like to see fall from the sky.

“Practically, cotton candy because you have to think about the injury possibilities but if I were to indulge in something I would have to say nachos because you have your own serving bit and you can really customise each chip.”

Anna resumes her character of Sam Sparks in the food-themed caper and she said she was excited to return for a second outing, in which the machine now makes food-animals: “It’s great the first one was so beloved and it’s amazing to do a sequel, it’s an honour.

“I love the whole food world, the visuals are so beautiful and the foodimals are so cool and creative. You record over a year and you don’t really know what’s going on so when you see the movie you just say ‘What? This is crazy!’.”

The movie will be out in UK cinemas on October 25.

Breaking Bad wins top drama Emmy Read More

Modern Family crowned at Emmys

Breaking Bad, the brutal saga of an everyman’s ambition turned evil, captured its first best drama Emmy Award on Sunday, while Modern Family won its fourth consecutive trophy for top comedy series.

“I did not see this coming,” said Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, tipping his hat to competitor House Of Cards, the first online contender for top Emmy honours.

Jeff Daniels won the Emmy for best drama series actor for his portrayal of an idealistic TV anchorman in The Newsroom, with Claire Danes capturing top actress honours for her troubled CIA agent in Homeland.

Daniels noted that he’d also received an age 50-plus acting honour from AARP, which represents the interests of older Americans.

“With all due respect to the AARP, this is even better,” Daniels said.

Danes, who captured her second trophy for the terrorism drama, paid tribute to one of the series’ writers, Henry Bromell, who died last March and who received a writing Emmy posthumously.

The ceremony often struck a melancholy note with extended tributes to stars and other industry members who died in the past year.

“Well, this may be the saddest Emmys of all time but we could not be happier,” said Modern Family executive producer Steve Levitan.

It also included upsets, defying the conventional wisdom in several categories, including acting categories.

“This just in. Nobody in America is winning their Emmy office pool. Surprises galore,” host Neil Patrick Harris.

Danes’ win ended the hopes that Scandal best actress nominee Kerry Washington would become the first African-American to win in the category.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus claimed her second consecutive best comedy actress award for her role as an ambitious political second banana in Veep, with Jim Parsons again claiming the top comedy acting trophy for The Big Bang Theory.

“This is so much good fortune it’s almost too much to bear,” said Louis-Dreyfus. “I’m very grateful to have the opportunity to make people laugh. It’s a joyful way to make a living.”

Parsons added to the awards he won in 2011 and 2010 for the role of a science nerd.

“My heart, oh my heart. I want you to know I’m very aware of how exceedingly fortunate I am,” he said.

Merritt Wever of Nurse Jackie won the night’s first award, for best supporting actress in a comedy series, kicking off the ceremony on a surprising note and with a remarkably brief acceptance speech.

“Thank you so much. Thank you so much. Um, I got to go, bye,” Wever told the audience after besting a field that included two-time winner Julie Bowen of Modern Family.

“Merritt Wever, best speech ever,” host Neil Patrick Harris said.

Backstage, she offered an explanation: “I’m sorry I didn’t thank anyone. I was going to cry.”

Tony Hale of Veep claimed the trophy for best supporting actor in a comedy, a category that has been the property in recent years of the men of Modern Family.

“Oh, man…. This is mindblowing, mindblowing,” Hale said.

Laura Linney was named best actress in a miniseries or movie for The Big C: Hereafter. The Voic” won best reality-competition programme, and Tina Fey won for writing 30 Rock.

Michael Douglas was honoured as best actor for his portrayal of Liberace in Behind the Candelabra, besting his co-star Matt Damon. The film also captured a top trophy as best movie or miniseries.

“This is a two-hander and Matt, you’re only as good as your other hand,” Douglas said, then got really racy: “You want the bottom or the top?”

Bobby Cannavale, from Boardwalk Empire, won as best supporting actor in a drama, and Anna Gunn from Breaking Bad won the best actress award in the same category.

Derek Hough of Dancing With The Stars won the trophy for best choreography, which offered an opportunity to include an upbeat dance number late in the show.

In the variety show category, The Colbert Report broke a 10-year winning streak held by The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. It also won for best writing for a variety show.

The ceremony’s first hour was relatively sombre, with memorial tributes and a doleful song by Elton John in honour of the late musical star Liberace, the subject of the nominated biopic Behind the Candelabra.

“Liberace left us 25 years ago and what a difference those years have made to people like me,” said Sir Elton, who is openly gay in contrast to the closeted Liberace portrayed in the TV movie.

Also honoured was Cory Monteith, the Glee star who died at age 31 in July of a drug and alcohol overdose. “His death is a tragic reminder of the rapacious, senseless destruction that is brought on by addiction,” said his co-star Jane Lynch.

The inclusion of Monteith as one of five extended goodbyes despite his abbreviated career and the exclusion of such enduring stars as Jack Klugman and Larry Hagman drew criticism from some. Adam Klugman, son of The Odd Couple actor, called his father’s omission “criminal”.

Edie Falco recalled her late The Sopranos co-star James Gandolfini, saluting him for his “fierce loyalty” to his friends and family and his work with military veterans.

“You all knew Jim the actor. I was lucky enough to know Jim the man,” she said.

Farrell, Patton for Warcraft film? new

Colin Farrell is being linked to the World Of Warcraft film

Colin Farrell might be set to star in the upcoming Warcraft movie.

The Dead Man Down actor has been offered a lead role in the film version of the popular World Of Warcraft video game, reported Deadline.

However, sources have apparently said that it is “50/50” as to whether the star signs a deal.

If Colin gets on board he could find himself starring alongside 2 Guns actress Paula Patton, who is said to be negotiating for a lead role.

Production on the film, which is being directed by Moon filmmaker Duncan Jones, is due to start in January.

Colin, 37, has several movies coming up including drama Miss Julie and mystery thriller Solace.

Paula, who is married to singer Robin Thicke, is due to star in the fifth Mission Impossible film.

Hugh Jackman draws on film role when facing the realities of raising children.

Hugh Jackman draws on film role when facing the realities of raising children.

In new movie Prisoners, the star plays a father whose daughter disappears along with another local girl. The storyline has made the actor re-think what he teaches his own children. Hugh married Deborra-Lee Furness in 1996 and the couple have two adopted children Oscar, 13 and eight-year-old Ava.

“I want [my children] to go out into the world thinking things will be OK. The harsh reality is that things don’t always turn out OK,” he told MTV.

“One line that my character has, which I used to think was a little bit of a glib line when I first read it but keeps resonating with me, is ‘Pray for the best, but prepare for the worst.’ So on some level, be ready. I’m more ready now than I was. That stays with me on a daily basis.”

The star researched the role thoroughly but found he didn’t need to look that far for inspiration.

High profile disappearances dominate the news, and the 44-year-old actor studied the press conferences that are often broadcast.

“The more I researched this – I read a lot of stories, I saw a lot of videos of endless parents doing those press conferences. It’s happening now,” he explained.

“This stuff goes on. Not that I expect people who have been through this to watch the movie – I felt a responsibility to not sensationalise that story, not just do a classic revenge torture thriller, but actually to delve into the realities of it.”

Head: My daughters get me gigs

Anthony Head loves working with his daughters Emily and Daisy

Anthony Head has insisted he doesn’t help his daughters get acting jobs – they get them for him.

The Free Agents star has acted with his daughter Emily in The Invisibles and The Inbetweeners Movie, and his daughter Daisy in TV musical Rules Of Love.

Anthony revealed: “I hope I get to work with both my daughters again. It’s a difficult balance, in that I don’t ever want anybody to think they get the gigs because I’m in them. And on every occasion so far, they’ve got the gig and then I’ve joined later.

“But the thing that’s wonderful about playing stuff with them, is that you don’t have to work at being in a relationship, there’s an immediate onscreen chemistry.”

The 59-year-old actor stars in new sitcom You, Me And Them with Eve Myles, Lindsay Duncan and Susie Blake, coming to UKTV Gold in October.

Eve plays his younger girlfriend Lauren, Lindsay plays his ex-wife who lives next-door and Susie plays Lauren’s disapproving mother.

Anthony revealed: “Chemistry really makes for a good show, and the chemistry I have with Eve, right from the outset, right when I went for the casting, there was just an immediate bond.

“We worked together in Merlin, but there’s a warmth to her which is really easy to bind to, and we really had a lovely time. A lot of laughing.”

Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman learned how to not take critics seriously on stage.

The Wolverine star learned his craft in the theatre and he’s learned over the years to ignore bad reviews because he known he’s going to make mistakes no matter what.

“I don’t read reviews,” he told Variety. “I’m too thin-skinned. It sort of came from the theatre actually with me. In the theatre, [reviews] mess you up, good and bad.

“Because you got to go out there every night and people’s opinions about it, even if it’s down to someone [writing], ‘Ahhh, love the way Mr. Jackman says this line.’ And then forget it, that line’s dead, forever more,” he explained.

Hugh is currently working on forthcoming thriller Prisoners with Jake Gyllenhaal.

His co-star echoed his sentiment, revealing he refuses to use movie ticket sales as an indicator of his success.

“It’s roll[ing] the dice,” Jake said. “If you enjoy gambling, which at times I do, but most of the time, I’m not very good at.

“I just prefer to stick to trying to pick the projects that move me and believe that if they move me and I put everything I can into them, that they will be seen and hopefully by a large number of people.”

Jake also moaned that box office results make the news every week, taking the excitement out of visiting the cinema.

“It’s interesting too that most people walking down the street, not even involved in the business at all, already know what [the number one movie in the box office] is,” he commented. “It takes a great mystery out of the whole process and a little bit of the magic [out] of the whole thing.”
