Why Harry Potter’s Rupert Grint Chose To Speak Out On His Own Against J.K. Rowling’s Transgender Comments

Social media was indeed bombarded with the cast of Harry Potter declaring their support for the trans community and spreading the same kindness that Grint speaks of, starting with Daniel Radcliffe, the series’ leading man. Other actors associated with the Harry Potter universe follow, including Evanna Lynch who plays Luna Lovegood in the OG Harry Potter series, Eddie Redmayne who plays the lead in the spinoff movie series Fantastic Beasts and Where To find Them, and Noma Dumezweni who played the adult version of Hermione on Broadway. Emma Watson, the OG Hermione, also spoke out early, making Rupert Grint the last of the Golden Trio to speak out on this topic and attempt to maintain the positivity surrounding the Harry Potter universe.

Harry Potter’s Rupert Grint Admits Playing Ron Was ‘Suffocating’

Harry Potter has been entertaining the public for decades, starting with J.K. Rowling’s beloved series of novels. The property got even more popular when the film franchise arrived, making instant stars out of its young cast. This includes Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley in all eight of the movies. And while Grint has gone on to more adult roles, he recently revealed why it was a bit suffocating playing Harry Potter’s best friend.

Fiction: The Betrayals and three other titles

As a young police officer in the early 1980s, Jane Monckton-Smith experienced her first domestic-violence case. A young woman had been smashed over the head with a hammer. Her partner, the assailant, had fled. Although bleeding, she refused to go to hospital. The question “Why” led Monckton-Smith to a lifetime study of “intimate partner homicide”.

Pivotal to her findings is the possibly ground-breaking theory she calls The Homicide Timeline. Consisting of eight phases, it completely debunks the notion of the crime of passion. Rather than being spontaneous, domestic homicide slowly builds to murder. Too often society supports the crime-of-passion narrative and the murderers see themselves as victims, a veiled plea for solidarity – as in, Vincent, one of her chilling case studies. Grim, but clearly and compellingly argued. SC

Blind girl’s reaction to getting Harry Potter book series in braille is priceless

A blind girl had the most magical Christmas after receiving a special set of books.

A fan of the Harry Potter books, 7-year-old Emrie was delighted to receive the full series in braille for Christmas.

Her initial reaction when first opening the box of books was, “And they’re braille books.”

But her tone turned to utter excitement as she ran her finger across the cover of the book revealing it was a copy of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”

“Oh my God. I have my own braille copy. Now I can read it,” she said.

Emrie started reading the Harry Potter books with her dad at night but recently stopped because she wanted to read them for herself, according to News.com.au.

“They would relive the magic for days as Emrie never forgot a single detail of the wonderful world she heard her daddy read about,” her aunt Kateyn Suter told the news outlet. “They have recently stopped reading them because Emrie wants to read them herself, she wants to put her finger to the paper and fly through Hogwarts too.

Unfortunately, her family learned braille copies of the books were very expensive, ranging from $100 to $400 for a single book, and not very accessible as many libraries don’t have them as an option.

Emrie’s aunt decided to raise money from followers on Instagram to be able to purchase her a set of books.

The fundraiser total came to $4,226, making it possible for Emrie to get 13 books as well as more than 50 books to be donated to libraries.

“I am hoping with a little help that we can give this little girl the gift of magic for Christmas as well as possibly supply the local libraries with a set too,” Sutter said.

People are denouncing the possible new Harry Potter series in light of J.K. Rowling’s history of transphobia

  • HBO Max is reportedly creating a series set in the “Harry Potter” universe.
  • But people online aren’t happy with the decision, which could make author J.K. Rowling richer.
  • One Twitter user said, “if jk rowling is part of it i’m not watching it.”

HBO Max
is reportedly developing a live-action TV series based on the “Harry Potter” novels, but people on social media aren’t happy with the move as it could potentially give more royalties to author J.K. Rowling.

In recent months, Rowling has come under fire for her controversial opinions about trans people.

Because of her transphobic comments and actions, many users voiced their anger over the potential new spin-off, with many saying Rowling shouldn’t be on the receiving end of any further “Harry Potter”-related royalties.

Several users pointed out that the news about the new “Harry Potter” series came after President Joe Biden ended a Trump-era ban on transgender people serving in the military on Monday

Overall, though, users were upset at the idea of Rowling making more money off the series — despite the fact that she likely is continuing to receive royalties from existing “Harry Potter”-related movies, parks, and merchandise.

This is hardly the first time Rowling has been lambasted on social media.

In June, Rowling caused an outcry after she posted a tweet implying that women are the only ones who menstruate.

Numerous users called out the post for being transphobic, pointing out that trans men can menstruate, as can gender non-conforming and non-binary people.

They also pointed out that it erased the lived experiences of women who don’t menstruate, which can be the result of things like menopause or health conditions like endometriosis.

Rowling’s tweet also garnered criticism from celebrities like Jameela Jamil, Jonathan Van Ness, and numerous stars of the “Harry Potter” films.

Following the backlash, Rowling issued a lengthy response to the controversy, explaining where she was coming from and asking for “empathy.”

According to Rowling, her desire to speak on trans issues came in part from her experience with domestic abuse and sexual assault.
