Your university might be more keen on your money than your knowledge or discovering – just like the movie sector, an institution is an enterprise, and their task is to ensure that you stay. You have to cope with the admissions office, financial aid office, educational advising, and at four-year colleges, General Education conditions like math and science and history. Not everything is about making movies, and you could spend a great deal of time trying to fight your way through the film school system just to understand something.  
Not every film student is a cinematic guru. Film being a collaborative method, you will need other people to assist you realize your mission, and not everyone knows what they’re doing. A number of people enlist in film school, with the thought that all he needs is to finish their studies and they can follow the footsteps of Scorsese or Spielberg, and they believe then can produce a better movie than you could. Either way, it’s up to you to identify your own path. Whatever your degree of skill or experience, some of your work will be poor. Your finest work might not be striking to other people. Utilize criticisms to improvise your work, not to gain flattery from others. 
Learning what advice to ignore, and which notes to apply, is a process filled with mistakes and poor results – but as long as you never take anything personally, you’ll be fine. It isn’t about you; it’s regarding the work. A film school will give you with access to all sorts of equipment: cameras, lights, editing tools, sound components, computers, projectors, possibly even a telecine machine – a lot of this equipment will not work properly. Even at the best schools with the newest equipment, things are broken, mishandled, mislabeled, misused…and there’s never time or money to repair them. You acquire strategies on how to convert the concepts in your brain on the screen and on paper. You gain knowledge on the terminologies, the fabrications and the truth of the world of motion picture. Most importantly, you get a film school education that matters to you – and any goal achieved is therefore also worth the obstacles.
