The highly anticipated book-turned-movie “Gone Girl” finally revealed a first look at Ben Affleck in the coveted lead role.

Twentieth Century Fox tweeted a movie still from the upcoming drama thriller, showing Affleck as Nick Dunne, the husband to a missing woman. “Gone Girl” is adapted from the wildly popular novel of the same name by author Gillian Flynn. Affleck’s character becomes a murder suspect after his wife, played by Rosamund Pike (“Pride Prejudice”), goes mysteriously missing.

The film is headed up by acclaimed auteur David Fincher, whose work includes “Fight Club,” “The Social Network,” and another popular book-turned-movie, “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.” Fincher also worked with Flynn on the screenplay.
