Growing up in a big family taught Jane to love all the weird little traits that people can exhibit. One day, a boy named Tommy came into her life and he had the same way of looking at people with a love for their odd ways. Soon, they were madly in love. Tommy popped the question, she answered yes, and they chose a date for their special day. They could not have known then the legend that their would become, a cautionary tale whispered in hushed tones into the ears of future brides-to-be which always ended with the same warning, and that’s why you should choose professional wedding entertainment for your wedding reception.

Aunt Bertha was Jane’s favorite relative, even though she was very demanding about appropriate styles and tastes. When she heard that Jane was getting married, she immediately took over the planning, down to every last detail. She was so refined, that almost no one could perceive her self-proclaimed genius.

Minor disagreements flared into a raging storm where curses flashed like lightning that turned compatible souls into lifetime enemies. Albert Einstein himself could not have calculated the seating chart, not even with the help of alternate dimensions. The special day was rapidly approaching and there were so many conflicts to remedy that as they sat down to work out what entertainment should set the tone of the evening, they both gave up and said let cousin Freddie do it.

Yes, cousin Freddie had more freckles than the galaxy has stars and his voice would occasionally strike atonal high notes, but he had a dream. Since they couldn’t think of a day that was better for making dreams come true, they gave the kid the good news. He could be their DJ.

Freddie wanted to make sure he dressed appropriately, so he showed up wearing oversized sunglasses, a cap turned backwards, a heavy gold chain around his neck, and loose jeans around his knees. Jane took one look at this ensemble and thought to herself if only they had hired a professional, he would have worn a tuxedo.

Soon, it was time to dance together for the first time as husband and wife. It started out very well. The right song was playing and they were even dancing to it when Freddie decided to liven things up with some scratching. They stopped dancing to cover their ears and saw that everyone else was doing the same thing. Both of them longed for the singing pianist who could croon classy tunes. They had almost hired him. If they had, they would have at least been able to finish their dance.

Things did not improve as the night went on. Freddie played a continuous stream of his favorite rap music. Aunt Bertha was purple with repressed rage. She marched right on up to the booth and snatched the turntable. Freddie grabbed it, too and they pulled back and forth so much that sparks flew out of the thing and started Bertha’s hair on fire. A waiter quickly doused her with a pitcher of water and as she stood soaking wet and shivering with cold, she raised one accusing finger toward the kid and yelled that a wedding singer, a swing band, anything would have been a better choice.

The legend of Freddie’s night as DJ is now an immortalized nightmare, carefully passed between former and future brides who cautiously whisper, and that’s why you should choose professional wedding entertainment for your wedding reception.
