The TV show Glee returns to Fox network for a follow up season beginning September 2010. The show won many various awards after the first season and had many guest appearances by various stars who played parts in the shows central themes.

The students and faculty of a Ohio based high school show choir, New Directions, are the focus of Glee. The musical comedy-drama, called Glee to pay homage to glee clubs, follows various students or faculty over the course of a school year as they vie for a spot at various show choir competitions. Instead of focusing on any single cast member the show rotates the focal point between the various characters and includes a musical performance by either a single performer or a group.

On September 21, 2010, the second season of Glee has been approved by Fox to start. Last season had 22 episodes that began showing with the pilot episode on May 19, 2009. The show could be found in the 9 p.m., Wednesday night home for Fox and should settle into that same time frame for season two.

Character students on the show are Glee’s Kurt Hummel (flamboyant singer), Artie (handicapped student), Quinn (ex-girlfriend of Finn’s, pregnant), Rachel (choir co-captain), Noah (friend of Finn, football player), Finn (choir co-captain, ex-football player), and others. Some of the faculty member characters include Emma (counselor), Sue (cheer squad leader), and Will (director of choir). There are many other characters, students or faculty that play roles in several of the episodes.

Season one of Glee had numerous well known musical performers, actors and Broadway stars join the normal cast as guest stars. Many times the guest stars would take on expanded roles and become a focal point for that show. It gave the regular cast members an opportunity to feed off the talents of other stars to help keep the show exciting and interesting.

After its opening season Glee won many different awards. At the 2009 Satellite Awards they won, Best Musical or Comedy TV series, Best Actor, Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series, Best Supporting Actress, and Special Achievement for Outstanding Guest Star. At the 2010 Golden Globes the show won the Best Television Series- Musical or Comedy award. During the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards the cast won the Outstanding Performance by and Ensemble in a Comedy Series Award.

With many awards won in the first season it aired, the TV show Glee is returning for a second season that is anticipated by many people. Look for most of the same cast members in the second season and some different guest stars as well.
