Since day 1, HD TV’s have become amazingly popular all over the world. Movie fanatics and sports fans in particular are quite rightly being drawn towards this latest creation. The enhanced quality picture and superior experience offered by HD TV is easy to see.
It can be hard however to choose as there are now an enormous array of HD TV’s on the market. So if you are intending to buy a new TV these tips will help you make the right choice.
1. Always check reviews before you decide to buy.The difference between a poor TV and decent TV is in the design, not in the price. You can check the online reviews or buy a few dedicated magazines. You don’t need to understand everything they say, but let an expert guide you instead of a sale person!
2. Please don’t think all HD TV’s are the same. That’s just not the case. (If you want to risk your money, you might as well go get some lottery tips instead!)
3. Screen size is critical. Bigger is good as it gives a more immersive experience. But think about the room size, and how far you will be sitting away from the screen. If the TV is over sized, you won’t get a good picture if you’re sat too close – not even with HD.
4. Think about the features you actually need. What kind of tuner do you need. Do the built in speakers matter or not. Make a list of the key features, and don’t be taken in by features you will probably never use. Do you really need 3D TV?
5. Are you going to wall mount the TV? Check how heavy the TV is, and how much a bracket will cost. Is the lighting right
6. Don’t buy overpriced cables or surge protectors. Shop staff are trained to pressure you into buying these extras at inflated prices, and I bet the shop will not sell sensibly priced alternatives. Shop somewhere else for cables or insist they are included free before you agree to buy.
So spend some time on research before you spend your money. The HD TV you buy now will easily last you for the next fifteen years at least. So make sure you get the best for your money and you’ll receive a lot more enjoyment out of your TV viewing.
