The Expendables

Three new flicks battled for supremacy this weekend and in the end rippling muscles won out.  Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables claimed the top spot in the weekend box office, raking in a cool $35 mil.  The other new contenders for the title were Julia Roberts chick flick Eat Pray Love, which was came in second with $23.7 mil and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World which, despite its obvious awesomeness, shockingly only came in 5th with $10.5 mil.  Pilgrim was expected to contend with The Expendables for the top spot, so its relatively poor showing (behind The Other Guys and Inception in its 5th week) was a surprise to many.  Here’s how the rest of the best round out:
