Digital Movie Making Tips Beginners and Pros Can Use

By  in April 26th 2011   No Comment »
Filed Under Movie Blog     Tags:

Whether you are after a short film for your loved ones or a short film you are filming as a final requirement in your filmmaking class, digital movie making is a mainstay and not only a trend as it appears to some.

Both the amateur trainee and the professional filmmaker must know the things needed to be checked when filming a movie. The following are some basic tips for both kinds of filmmakers:

The Equipment

Digital film technology has been advancing to the point where even those who have zero knowledge of it or of filmmaking per se can come up with professional-looking videos and short movies about their families and loved ones. This is so because of the user-friendly equipment used. However, you should be able to pick one that suits all your needs and varying uses.

You must know that digital video camcorders come in various formats. The MiniDVs would film on small tapes while those video cameras record on HDD or High Disk Drive. dvd camcorders on the other hand film videos straight on discs which you can view on your dvd player.

If you will be using it for family gatherings, the MiniDV is the more appropriate one as it can be handy and easy to operate. The other types of cameras also have their own advantages. Video cameras make it easy for you to share your work with others. This is the perfect choice for those who are studying a filmmaking course and have to share the work to his groupmates. The advantage of the dvd camcorders is its large storage which is suited for those who produce full-length films or professional ones.

You must also have the video editing software but you need not worry as they come built-in with today’s desktop PCs and laptops.

The Angles and Shoots

For you to be able to have professional shots, you need to take into consideration the four aspects: lighting and exposure, stability, audio and editing. Digital video camcorders don’t work quite well in an environment with a wide range of lighting. Always take into consideration that lighting should be uniform.

For stability, especially for the small cams, always use a tripod when filming or use a digital stabilizer if you have one. Bear in mind that a slight movement in the cam can ruin the entire scene.

Any camcorder has basic audio devices to go with it. To have better quality of sound, you can set up a boom microphone on the audio input port and place it closer to the subject during filming.

When editing, it’s always best to keep away from too elaborate effects; be simple and your film won’t be appearing too amateurish.

The Entertainment Career Connection Scam

An Entertainment Career Connection scam does not actually exist, it just seems that way. Living in the reality that it is difficult to get the career that you want along with the suitable training then what Entertainment Connection is providing can sound more like a scam.

Education was created for the purpose of teaching people a particular craft or skill that they can turn into a job. As education advanced, the way people were educated progressed as well. For certain careers, people went to schools and universities, to learn their craft. While in some other kinds of jobs, all the students have to do is work under a mentor and learn from them. Right or wrong does not exist when it comes to understanding, but in some careers there are some techniques of teaching that are deemed more effective.

For a career in the entertainment business, attending college may not be the right route. The entertainment industry is one place that students find their diplomas have no significance in. This is mostly because those who are in the entertainment field have determined that college students are not who they wish to hire. Oftentimes, students who have graduated college know hardly any about their chosen profession, have never worked in it, have not learned to use the technology, and are generally less experienced and efficient.

Universities are not very good training grounds for professions in the entertainment business. Most lessons in universities are taught within the four walls of a school room through a series of boring lectures. Many school cannot even afford the apparatus needed to do well in these professions, and if a school does have the proper equipment, individual students really don’t get to use the equipment enough to learn it properly. In these career fields, it is essential to know the technology because there is a lot of it being used and employers really seek out those who they do not have to train themselves. Most learning materials used in colleges do not contain the latest information thus the students find it hard to adjust in real life setting.

An Entertainment Career Connection scam may not exist, but that does not mean that students can slack off in these courses. Everything requires work, and Entertainment Connection isn’t any different. Students under this program are still required to study, submit requirements, work diligently with their teachers and absorb as much knowledge as they can. This is why there is no Entertainment Career Connection scam because the students who went through these programs are able to land stable jobs. Employers are more confident in hiring employees that came from technical schools like Entertainment Connection because they know that these individuals already know what they are doing.
