A parliamentary inquiry heard evidence that the Health Department was warned Painter might not have eaten food from I Cook Foods and the slug was planted.

I Cook Foods owner Ian Cook denied the infection was linked to his business and is suing Dandenong Council and the Health Department for more than $50 million in damages in the Supreme Court.

He claimed the council targeted his business because the council and its chief executive, John Bennie, were stakeholders in rival catering company Community Chef.

CBD heard that top-shelf criminal barrister Robert Richter, QC, whose clients have included Mick Gatto and Cardinal George Pell, had been drafted into proceedings. The lawyer told CBD he had accepted a brief for I Cook.

But who’s paying? Richter is said to cost between $12,000 and $15,000 a day. He was too polite to say. One source says funds have been contributed by a group upset with the role of authorities in breaking up an Orthodox Jewish prayer meeting. How intriguing.

“First Brexit hit, and then the pandemic hit. The combination of both, the manufacturers got scared and work stopped and they couldn’t ship big containers by sea,” Elvijs Plugis, co-owner of fandom-themed collectible shop House of Spells, based in Charing Cross, London, says.

The last book was released in 2007 while the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 was released in 2011.

Yet the wizarding world of Harry Potter remains one of the world’s most-loved fictional worlds with grown aldults still awaiting their letter from Hogwarts.

Many of us grew up alongside Harry, Ron and Hermione, glued to the books and eagerly awaiting the cinema releases, while younger generations are only just discovering the magical world beyond Platform 9 3/4.

Now, a new Harry Potter experience is opening in the UK this autumn, giving fans the chance to wander through the Forbidden Forest.

The new attraction will debut in the enchanting woodland at Arley Hall and Gardens in Cheshire, before heading over to Burbank in the US.

What will the experience include?

Potter fans will be able to wander down illuminated woodland paths inspired by the Forbidden Forest where they will discover a host of magical surprises along the way.

Mystical creatures from JK Rowling’s Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series will be lurking in the forest, including Hippogriffs, centaurs, unicorns and Nifflers, among others.

The night-time woodland experience, created by Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment, is suitable for the whole family to enjoy, with plenty to keep fans of all ages to see and do.

As well as seeing the forest come to life, visitors will be able to indulge in an array of tasty food and drinks at a seasonally themed village, and pick up some goodies at the on-site merchandise shop.

The trail follows a one-way route and is designed to be accessible to all visitors.

It will also be Covid secure and adhere to the latest government safety guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit.

Peter van Roden, senior vice president of Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment said the Forbidden Forest “offers fans a new way to enjoy some of the most iconic and magical wizarding world moments.

He added: “We’re thrilled to be working alongside Thinkwell to bring this incredible light trail to life at Arley Hall Gardens, a perfect location where the natural beauty of the forest trail and illuminated sets filled with familiar creatures from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series, will make for a magical experience for fans of all ages.”

When do tickets go on sale?

Ticket prices will start from £19 per person and are available to buy on Fever’s marketplace.

It has been exactly 10 years since the last Harry Potter film was released in cinemas and some fans still haven’t quite gotten over the loss of the franchise.

Although the films are no longer being released, many of the cast have continued acting and some have even gone on to achieve more fame and success than they did during their time of witchcraft and wizardry.

Since filming on the set came to an end, much of the media attention has been focused on the main three members of the cast Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. As it happens, one of the more low-key members of the cast has arguably gone on to achieve just as much success as his more prominent peers.

Alfred Enoch played Dean Thomas in the Harry Potter films, but has probably become more well known for his role on ABC’s wildly successful mystery drama How To Get Away With Murder.

With the exception of one film (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow – Part 1), Alfred was one of the few cast members to appear in every single Harry Potter film. This dates back to the first film (2001’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone) all the way through to the finale (2011’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2).

Alfred landed a leading role on How To Get Away With Murder in 2014 and was involved in the series’ most complex and emotionally charged storylines.

ATT and Facebook Reality Labs are joining forces to work on “collaborative video calling” as well as augmented reality experiences in Facebook’s apps. They’re using Spark AR, a platform from Facebook that powers AR experiences across devices and the company’s apps.

Their first AR collaboration is a promo for Space Jam: A New Legacy. Using your phone, you can bring Lola Bunny, Daffy Duck and Tweety into your space via a website, ATT’s Instagram profile or Facebook. You can use the front or rear camera to take a picture with them or create a video with a custom intro from Bugs Bunny. ATT says its 5G network can boost the “performance and reliability for each AR experience,” with the help of more vivid graphics and shorter load times.

The Facebook partnership is one of a slew of 5G collaborations that ATT will discuss at an event on Wednesday. The provider has partnered with Boingo to bring 5G+ (aka millimeter wave 5G) to airports across the US, including John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia, Chicago O’Hare, Los Angeles Airport and Denver International Airport. They plan to roll out 5G+ in seven airports this year and 25 by the end of 2022 with the aim of reducing network congestion. ATT, which suggests you might use the network to quickly download a bunch of TV show episodes right before a flight, has already switched on 5G at Tampa International Airport.

ATT has also teamed up with an app called Bookful for 5G-powered AR reading experiences with characters from kids’ books leaping out of the screen. In addition, it’s working with Warner Bros., Ericsson, Qualcomm, Dreamscape and Wevr on a proof-of-concept Harry Potter virtual reality experience called Chaos at Hogwarts.

Actors James and Oliver Phelps, who gained immense popularity playing twins Fred and George Weasley in Harry Potter films, have now revealed they did not know which twin they were supposed to be playing until a few minutes before the table read for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone — the first film in the franchise.

Talking to their co-star Evanna Lynch on their podcast Normal Not Normal, revealed James played the role of Fred, while Oliver portrayed George.

As per a report in The Indian Express, the topic of the episode was Lynch’s upcoming memoir. Lynch played the role of Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter films.

Speaking at the podcast, Oliver said that they have no idea who was Fred and who was George even five minutes before they were supposed to start, adding, when he enquired the casting director about the same, she thought he was kidding.

Oliver added, “Now we always like to think they just … ‘Oh, you didn’t get the memo about the huge meeting we had in Burbank with like 50 people on the call. But in hindsight, it was probably either Chris, David, or J.K. Rowling just saying … ‘James is Fred.’”

Evanna Lynch aka Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter universe is coming out with a memoir on 14 September. As per earlier reports, Lynch said she has been meaning to write a book for quite some time and the year gone by gave her the perfect opportunity to write what she wanted to tell.

The book is published by Headline Books and chronicles her struggle with eating disorder, recovery and commitment to her dreams.

LONDON — A café in Scotland’s capital where author J.K. Rowling wrote some of the Harry Potter books has been damaged in a fire.

The Elephant House in Edinburgh suffered smoke and water damage after a blaze broke out at the patisserie next door on Tuesday.

More than 60 firefighters and 12 fire engines were deployed to tackle the blaze. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said one of its crew members was taken to hospital as a precaution and later released.

Images showed the cafe with its front windows gone, a ruined interior and debris lying outside.

Owner David Taylor told the BBC he was “devastated” by the extensive damage to his business. He said the cafe would likely be closed for months for repairs.

The Elephant House is a regular stop for Harry Potter fans and long bore a sign declaring itself as the “birthplace” of the fictional young wizard.

Rowling has disputed that, saying she began writing the magical stories before she moved to Edinburgh. But she confirmed she frequented the cafe while penning some of the seven-book series.

The Patisserie Valerie, where Tuesday’s fire started, also was heavily damaged. Firefighters remained at the scene in Edinburgh’s Old Town with the street closed off into Wednesday.

Tickets for the Dark Arts Feature cost $65 per adult and $52 per child or you can opt for the family bundle for $205 which covers 2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children.

But that’s not the only thing coming to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London this Halloween season — Hogwarts After Dark will also run from October 6th to October 8th!

This event includes a two-course dinner on the sets of Harry Potter, dessert in the Forbidden Forest, a custom wand, a wand choreography workshop with Paul Harris, full after-hours access to the Harry Potter studio tour, and more. Tickets go on sale on August 26th and cost $356 per person.
