The RSS-affiliated Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) on Monday announced a protest rally of farmers in the national capital on December 19 to press their demands for increasing financial assistance under the PM Kisan scheme and removing GST on agricultural equipment and fertilisers.
BKS all-India secretary K Sai Reddy said the national executive, at its meeting in the city on October 8 and 9, decided that financial stability of farmers is paramount and to ensure that necessary steps must be taken.
“In the meeting we have decided to hold a massive protest rally — ‘Kisan Garjana Rally’ — in Delhi on December 19 and demand the central government to remove GST on agriculture inputs. We will also press for our demand that Kisan Samman Rashi should also be increased keeping inflation in mind,” Reddy said at a press conference here.
He also said several programmes will be held in October and November to aware people about the issues and the rally.
BKS general secretary Mohini Mohan Mishra said farmers from across the country will participate in the rally on December 19 and draw the attention of the government towards their condition.
“Agricultural input cost has risen substantially due to 18 per cent GST on agricultural equipment and fertilisers. Despite this, farmers do not get the price of crops he deserves. So it has become imperative that this GST should be removed and the Kisan Samman Rashi should be increased in accordance with inflation,” Mishra said.
Mishra also demanded that fertiliser subsidy should be given directly in the accounts of farmers.
He said farmers are leaving agriculture and looking for other options because of the neglect by the government and less profit in farming.

Werewolf by Night is being marketed as a campy monster horror of the Universal Monster movies of yore, and based off of early reviews, it may live up to that. Starring Gael García Bernal as monster hunter/werewolf Jack Russell and directed by composer Michael Giacchino, it’ll be quite interesting to see just want horrors Werewolf by Night can pull off in this Marvel Studios Special Presentation. As we all know, J.K. Rowling is one of the most prolific authors of all time for her successful work on the fictitious Harry Potter series. Still, there has been controversy surrounding her real-life views. Nevertheless, J.K. Rowling has become the talk on Twitter this week for how she responded to a critic who asked how the Harry Potter creator “sleeps at night.”
Joanne Rowling, also known by her pen name J.K. Rowling is the author of the much-loved series of seven Harry Potter novels, originally published between 1997 and 2007. In addition to selling over 500 million copies, the series has been translated into at least 70 languages and spawned a global media franchise that includes films and video games.
J.K. Rowling Doesn’t Care About Fans; Royalties Pay Her Off Enough
British Author J.K. Rowling sleeps peacefully and doesn’t mind losing ‘woke‘ fans since royalties continue flowing into her bank accounts. This week, on her Twitter account, where she has more than 14 million followers, the Harry Potter author answered a question posed by one of her fans: “How can you sleep at night knowing you are losing a huge audience?”
Despite being undiplomatic, Rowling responded aggressively to an online critic. Rowling responded in a tweet with more than 257K likes, “I read my most recent royalty checks and find the pain goes away pretty quickly.”

J.K. Rowling Created Controversy Toward Transgender People
J.K. Rowling
Since a few years ago, J.K. Rowling has been embroiled in controversy over her statements about transgender people, which many have labeled “hate speech.”
Several conservatives have tweeted positive things about Rowling, including Larry O’Connor, who wrote, “England still has a queen,” and the tweet from Rowling about transgender people was retweeted over 25,000 times and liked over 234,000 times.
Rowling, however, has been strongly criticized by the left, believing that her statements have a detrimental effect on thousands of transgender children.
Journalist Walker Bragman also replied against Rowling in her recent Twitter response regarding the dismayed Harry Potter Fandom.
You singled out and vilified an extremely vulnerable minority group.
I can’t help but think about kids who are struggling with their identity and just want acceptance.
You, with your massive platform, have made it harder for them. And that sucks.
So much wrong with the world — an existential climate crisis, a devastating pandemic, Gilded Age levels of inequality, crippling humanitarian disasters fueled by imperialism…and you chose trans people.
Billionaire writer opposes policies related to transgender people. Recently, she highlighted a blog post written by the parents of a girl with learning disabilities who attends a special needs school. According to reports, the school implemented “cross-gender intimate care” instead of “same-sex intimate care.”
“I’m so fucking angry my hands are shaking,” the author said.
“I am the daughter of a disabled mother and have campaigned for the rights of vulnerable children for many years, but I remain constantly shocked at the cruelty and indifference shown to those who cannot advocate for themselves.”
She added,
“I urge anyone who feels as I do when reading this article to contact their MP, as I will be contacting mine and anyone else I know who can stand up to this horror show.”
J.K. Rowling Pays Homage To Harry Potter’s Robbie Coltrane
J.K. Rowling With Robbie Coltrane
In addition to Harry Potter fame, Robbie Coltrane is no longer with us. As Rubeus Hagrid in the popular franchise, the actor played a much-loved and memorable role. Unfortunately, a 72-year-old Coltrane died yesterday, according to reports. The social media world has begun condolences for the late actor. Besides the millions of fans, Daniel Radcliffe and J.K. Rowling also penned heartfelt condolences for Robbie Coltrane as they remembered their time together.
JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, took to Twitter and shared a sweet photo with the late actor; she also wrote a few lines in memory of him. It read,
“I’ll never know anyone remotely like Robbie again. He was an incredible talent, a complete one-off, and I was beyond fortunate to know him, work with him and laugh my head off with him. I send my love and deepest condolences to his family, above all, his children.”

“You think you can make a huge scene in front of everyone?” Cohen Media Group has revealed an official US trailer for an award-winning Spanish film titled The Good Boss, which already opened in Spain last fall. This film premiered at the 2021 San Sebastian Film Festival, and ended up with 20 nominations to the 36th Goya Awards, winning six awards in total including Best Picture, Director, Actor, Screenplay, Score. Julio Blanco, the charismatic and manipulative owner of a family-run factory making industrial scales in a Spanish provincial town, meddles in the lives of his employees in an attempt to win an award for business excellence. Hoping to resolve any problems from his workers in enough time, crossing all the lines in the process. Javier Bardem stars as Blanco, with Manolo Solo, Almudena Amor, Óscar de la Fuente, Sonia Almarcha, Fernando Albizu, Tarik Rmili, and Rafa Castejón. This looks like another good film about how terrible most corporations are, even when they pretend to be good and get awards, they’re still run by idiots who treat their workers like crap. And this looks especially funny, too! Have a look below.
Here’s the official US trailer (+ poster) for Fernando León de Aranoa’s The Good Boss, from YouTube:
Básculas Blanco (Javier Bardem), a Spanish company producing industrial scales in a provincial Spanish town, awaits the imminent visit from a committee which holds its fate in their hands as to whether they merit a local “Business Excellence” award. Everything has to be perfect when the time comes. Working against the clock, the company’s proprietor, Blanco pulls out all the stops to address and resolve issues with his employees, crossing every imaginable line in the process. The Good Boss, originally known as El Buen Patrón in Spanish, is both written and directed by Spanish writer / filmmaker Fernando León de Aranoa, director of the films Familie, Barrio, Mondays in the Sun, Princesses, Amador, A Perfect Day, and Loving Pablo previously. This initially premiered at the 2021 San Sebastian Film Festival last year, and also played at the London Film Festival. The film already opened in Spain in fall of 2021. Cohen Media will debut The Good Boss in select US theaters starting August 26th, 2022 this summer. Who wants to watch?
The smallest set in the summer 2022 Harry Potter wave is 76400 Hogwarts Carriage and Thestrals. The set name really sums it up here – other than the minifigures and a very small bit of scenery, a carriage and some thestrals is all you get! Is it a good pocket money pickup? Let’s take a quick look at this set, featuring 2 minifigures and 121 pieces, which will be available starting June 19th for US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99.
This set is based on a license The LEGO Group has with the Warner Brothers films, not J.K. Rowling directly. The transphobic views expressed by Rowling do not reflect the values of The Brothers Brick or, indeed, those of The LEGO Group. The magical world Rowling created, in which many who felt a bit different could see themselves, meant a great deal to so many people, including those that Rowling now demeans. TBB affirms each individual LEGO fan’s choice to claim a piece of the world for themselves, or to reject it entirely.
The LEGO Group provided The Brothers Brick with an early copy of this set for review. Providing TBB with products for review guarantees neither coverage nor positive reviews.
Contents and build
Inside the box are the instructions, a single unnumbered bag, and a loose adult Thestral. The bit of scenery adds some green to brighten up the mix. Let’s not dissemble, though – you’re here for the baby Thestral:
It’s cute! I’m sure it’s going to be popular. But it’s much more a miniaturized adult Thestral, or maybe an adolescent, than the spindly-legged baby with a too-big head wobbling on a tiny neck that we see Luna offer an apple. Those are tough proportions to pull off in a single mold, but the head could have been bigger at least. It’s also not a goat, though of course that’s completely unfair to the element designer. It is a very similar size, though. A paranoid LEGO fan might think we were being taunted a little.
The rest of the set is unremarkable. The carriage is serviceable, able to seat both minifigures, and there are a few greebles. The scenery is also quite basic, offering an impression of a tree. There’s nothing wrong with either of these builds in a low-end set, but neither is a reason to make the purchase.
The Minifigures
The choice of Harry and Luna makes sense for the subject matter, as Luna explains to Harry why he is able to see the Thestrals after Sirius’ death, and they visit a baby Thestral with the apple later. Both minifigures are also unique, though Harry’s printing is a combination of his common dark blue sweater over a Hogwarts uniform with Gryffindor tie, both of which have appeared frequently. Luna’s appearance is quite different from her other minifigures, and is a decent representation of her on-screen outfit. Both have back printing and alternate expressions.
Finished Build and Recommendation
This set is all about the Thestrals. The adult appeared before in 75951 Grindelwald’s Escape, and is a nice mold, with the wings fading from black towards transparent. The baby is of course entirely new, and will undoubtedly receive a lot of interest. If you don’t have many Harry Potter sets, this isn’t a bad one to pick up on a whim. If you’ve been collecting Harry Potter sets, though, the Thestrals on their own come short of feeling like good value at $20, and we recommend passing, or at least waiting until a sale.
76400 Hogwarts Carriage and Thestrals contains 121 pieces and 2 minifigures. It will be available from the LEGO Shop and worldwide starting June 19th for US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99 or from Amazon. It may also be available from third-party sellers on eBay.
The LEGO Group sent The Brothers Brick an early copy of this set for review. Providing TBB with products for review guarantees neither coverage nor positive reviews.
“I have complete lost sight of what we’re doing here!” Signature Ent. has revealed the first official trailer for a comedy titled The Estate, which sounds a lot like Knives Out or any of these other “who gets the money?” family comedies. It’s opening in November in theaters in the US later this fall. Two sisters attempt to win over their terminally ill, very-difficult-to-please Aunt in hopes of becoming the beneficiaries of her wealthy estate, only to find the rest of their greedy family members have the same idea. Sounds like a good time, right? Or maybe not. But this cast will get your attention! Starring the superb Toni Collette, with Anna Faris, David Duchovny, Rosemarie DeWitt, Ron Livingston, and Kathleen Turner. It looks kooky and extra dumb, another generic comedy that should be going direct-to-video, not playing in any theaters.
Here’s the first official trailer (+ poster) for Dean Craig’s The Estate, direct from YouTube:
Nothing brings a family together… like tearing each other apart. Two sisters attempt to win over their terminally ill, difficult-to-please Aunt in hopes of becoming the beneficiaries of her wealthy estate, only to find the rest of their greedy family members have the same idea. The Estate is both written and directed by American writer / filmmaker Dean Craig, making his second feature after directing Love Wedding Repeat previously, plus a writer of scripts for Death at a Funeral, A Few Best Men, A Few Less Men, Moonwalkers, and My Dog Stupid. Produced by Alison Benson, Sarah Gabriel, Marc Goldberg, and Sarah Jessica Parker. This hasn’t premiered at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. The Signature will debut Craig’s The Estate in select US theaters starting on November 4th, 2022 this fall. Who’s interested in watching this?
Born Anthony Robert McMillan in Rutherglen, Scotland, Coltrane was in his early 20s when he began pursuing an acting career and renamed himself in honour of jazz musician John Coltrane.
He already had a notable screen career, with credits including Mona Lisa, Nuns on the Run and Kenneth Branagh’s adaptation of Henry V when he broke through on his own as a hard-bitten detective in Cracker, the 1990s TV series for which he won best actor at the British Academy Television Awards three years running.

He went on to appear in all eight Harry Potter movies as the young wizard’s mentor and had a wide variety of other parts, including a Russian crime boss in the James Bond thrillers GoldenEye and The World is Not Enough and Pip’s guardian Jaggers in a 2012 adaptation of Dickens’ Great Expectations. More recently, he received rave reviews for playing a beloved TV star who may harbour a dark secret in the 2016 mini-series National Treasure.
In a statement, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, 33, called Coltrane “one of the funniest people I’ve met.”
“Let me tell you what’s progressive now – being alone!” Ha ha. Universal has released the second official trailer for Bros, a hilarious and refreshing new romantic comedy from filmmaker Nick Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek, The Five-Year Engagement, Neighbors) comedian Billy Eichner, who also wrote the script. This fall, Universal proudly presents the very first romantic comedy from a major studio about two gay men maybe, possibly, probably, stumbling towards love. Maybe. They’re both busy… Starring Billy Eichner, the first openly gay man to co-write and star in his own major studio movie, which is described as “a smart, swoony and heartfelt comedy about finding sex, love and romance amidst the madness.” The big cast includes Luke Macfarlane, Jim Rash, Bowen Yang, Ts Madison, Guillermo Díaz, Miss Lawrence, Harvey Fierstein, Symone. It looks amazing! This has a bunch of good laugh out loud jokes, makes fun of everyone, and has a sweet side to it with Eichner and his boy. Going to be good.
