Movies Coming in 2022 From Marvel, Netflix, DC and More

David O. Russell writes and directs a romantic crime epic blending fact and fiction in a tale of three friends caught in a shocking secret plot. The cast is frankly unbelievable: It stars Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Alessandro Nivola, Andrea Riseborough, Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Rock, Matthias Schoenaerts, Michael Shannon, Mike Myers, Taylor Swift, Timothy Olyphant, Zoe Saldana, Rami Malek and Robert de Niro.

Harry Potter’s David Yates lands Chris Evans for next film – Film Stories

David Yates moves from Fantastic Beasts to something very different – with Chris Evans joining Emily Blunt in the cast.

Had all gone to plan, then director David Yates would likely be preparing to film the fourth Fantastic Beasts movie right about now. But, whilst there’s been no confirmation that the Fantastic Beasts saga is at an end, by now it’d be more of a surprise if the fourth film went ahead than if it didn’t.

David Yates certainly isn’t hanging around, and it’d already been revealed that he’d chosen his next film. He’s set to be making Pain Hustlers, a very different kind of movie, considering he’s been working in and around PG/12A films for the past two decades.

Pain Hustlers is the tale of a high school dropout – played by Emily Blunt – who ends up working for a pharmaceutical company. With The Wolf Of Wall Street said to be a touchpoint for the story, you get a flavour of which way it might head.

Alongside Emily Blunt we now learn too that Chris Evans is signing up for the picture, that’s been penned by Wells Tower. Furthermore, Netflix has dug out some spare change from behind its sofa to pay for the movie as well, and that leaves the path clear for filming to begin in August.

Don’t expect a release of the film until next year, but do expect a bit more casting news over the coming months.

Birmingham, England: Islamist Shakeel Afsar asks Hindus to declare that they do not support BJP and RSS, amid threats of violence

After a call for “peaceful protests” on social media, a 200-strong mob of masked Islamists circled the Durga Bhawan Hindu Centre on Spon Lane in Smethwick, West Midlands, England, on September 20 (local time).

The so-called protest, which was more of an intimidation technique by Islamists, was planned in opposition to Sadhvi Ritambhara’s already-postponed event. Islamist and full-time protestor Shakeel Afsar was seen in a video threatening the Hindu community with violence if Durga Bhawan Hindu Centre does not issue an official statement that they are not associated with BJP/RSS.

Shakeel Afsar, an Islamist, continues to threaten Hindus on social media. One approach used by all Islamists is to openly spew venom against Hindus and then pretend that they have no problem with ordinary Hindus and are only against the Hindutva ideology and its supporters, namely the BJP and the RSS. “Yes good as life they are not supportive of the BJP/RSS extremists we have no issues with the large majority of Hindus But BJP/RSS we will always have an issue !!!”

So, indirectly, Afsar wants the Hindus of Birmingham, England to submit to the demands of Islamists and declare that they will never support a party and an organisation back in India, thousands of miles away. He wants the political opinions and choices of Hindus in Birmingham to be vetted and certified by the local Islamists first.

Shakeel Afsar is a known Islamist who has a history of inciting hatred and violence against non-Muslims. The film Lady Of Heaven, which depicted the story of Lady Fatima, the Prophet Muhammad’s daughter, was released on June 3, this year. However, a well-known movie chain in the United Kingdom cancelled all shows, citing concerns for employee and customer safety after an Islamist mob led by Shakeel Afsar threatened violent consequences. “Birmingham will not tolerate the disrespect of our prophet. There will be outcomes from your actions. You will have repercussions for your actions. We have been trained from birth that we must defend the honor of our prophet we will lay our life on the line, Afsar said.

In 2019, Shakeel Afsar led a massive protest against the government-led LGBT equality teachings and sex education drive in schools. He was accused of inflaming tensions by inviting a radical imam to a protest who claimed anal sex and transgenderism were taught in schools. He also had to face trial in court.

The Recorder – ‘Return to Hogwarts’ returns to Orange

From July 27 to 31, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is coming to Orange as local businesses break out wands, butterbeer and more magical items in celebration of the titular wizard’s birthday.

Held in 2019 and 2021 at the White Cloud Diner, owner Jennifer Sheldon wanted to invite neighboring businesses to join in on the event in an effort to spread the wealth of visitors.

“It was a really big hit, we had people that came from all over … it was far more popular than we ever anticipated,” Sheldon said. “We thought, how wonderful would it be for the town itself if we could make this throughout the area and have other businesses involved.”

What started as something fun for Sheldon to do with her daughter, Tori Bianco, has turned into a five-day celebration of the book series, which culminates in an already sold-out Hogwarts Ball at the Revival Wheeler Mansion to celebrate Harry Potter’s 41st birthday on July 31 (the fictional Potter was born in 1980).

“My daughter Tori and I are big Harry Potter fans,” Sheldon said, adding that it was her mom, who died in 2013, that got both of them into the series. “On top of our love of the story itself, it gives me and my daughter a connection to my mother.”

Over the course of this year’s five-day event, 10 local businesses will turn themselves into versions of locations from the series, offering special Harry Potter-themed activities at businesses like the Within Wellness yoga studio, which will transform into the Room of Requirement and offer a Defense Against the Dark Arts yoga course.

“All of these businesses are really getting into what their stop is going to be,” Sheldon said. “We’re trying to do it so it’s all around town so it really just draws in a crowd.”

At the Trail Head Outfitters General Store, owner Stephanie Cook is bringing in all sorts of “really large props” to turn the store into the Forbidden Forest, while the cafe will be serving Potter-themed specials and Sorting Hat cupcakes.

“We have a really large spider coming and a really, really large tree, which will be the Whomping Willow,” Cook said. “It’s gonna feel like you’re walking into the woods.”Cook recently got into the series and this event is great for Orange and its businesses.

At the White Cloud Diner, customers can order the Sorting Hat pancake, which tells you the Hogwarts House you belong to based on the color of MM’s in the middle. The diner will be decked out in decorations and on July 28 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., local bird rehabilitator Tom Ricardi will host a live owl presentation.

“It really is an immersive experience,” Sheldon said. “It’s fun for all.”

Sheldon said Return to Hogwarts is an opportunity to experience some of the magic of Harry Potter without having to travel to a theme park.

“It’s a great family experience for people who can’t go all the way to Universal in Florida,” Sheldon said, adding that families will have plenty of free photo opportunities.

Return to Hogwarts will be held from July 27 to July 31. A map of participating businesses and a calendar of special events can be found on the White Cloud Diner’s Facebook page or through this link: https://bit.ly/3aqvvBs. The Hogwarts Ball is sold out, but potion making and basic crystal and wand mastery class tickets can be purchased here: https://bit.ly/3OMxIWR.

Emma Corrin Makes Major Waves With Goldfish Bag Dress at My Policeman Premiere

That’s one way to make a splash on the red carpet.

During the BFI London Film Festival, all eyes were on Emma Corrin who arrived at the premiere of their new film My Policeman wearing campy creation designed to look like a plastic bag containing a goldfish.

The fishy frock hails from JW Anderson’s spring 2023 collection and features a playful bubble shape, knotted one-shoulder detail and glossy finish. Emma completed the carnival prize vibe with black open-toe mules and Cartier jewels.

On their Instagram, Emma, 26, gave a closer look at the designer dress and dropped an iconic quote from the 1998 movie, You’ve Got Mail.

“WHO BELONGS TO THIS FISH? (10 bucks if you guess the film),” they captioned the Oct. 15 post. “Huge thank you to LFF for having us premiere My Policeman here in London. Loved making this one, so much heart and a good reminder of what we’ve fought for and what we still have to fight for.”

New movies 2022: what to watch in theaters this year

Thanks to the global pandemic, theatrical movie releases were all-but non-existent in 2020, and any new titles that did see the light of day were often confined to streamers like Disney Plus and HBO Max.

2021, though, turned out to be one of the best years for film fans in living memory. Not only did we seen four Marvel movies released last year (Black Widow, Shang-Chi, Eternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home, which, collectively, lengthened the task of watching the Marvel movies in order), but we also enjoyed the big-budget action of theatrically-released flicks like No Time to Die, Dune and The Matrix Resurrections.

Bundesliga 2022-23: Union Berlin Stun Borussia Dortmund; Bayern Munich Rout Freiburg 5-0

Union Berlin’s fairy tale continues but Bayern Munich is lurking. Janik Haberer scored twice for Union to upset Borussia Dortmund 2-0 and consolidate their early-season Bundesliga 2022-23 lead, while Bayern enjoyed a 5-0 rout of Freiburg on Sunday. (More Football News)

Haberer’s two first-half goals dealt Dortmund its fourth defeat from 10 games so far. The win lifted Union four points clear of Bayern at the top after 10 rounds – and seven points ahead of Dortmund.

Serge Gnabry, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Leroy Sané, Sadio Mané and Marcel Sabitzer all scored for Bayern to end Freiburg’s 11-game unbeaten streak across all competitions and replace the visitors in second place.

“Super Bayern, super Bayern,” the home fans sang as the Bavarian powerhouse emerged as Union’s main challenger even without the injured Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller.

UNION ENJOYING THE MOMENT

Union coach Urs Fischer said supporters were entitled to celebrate and dream of winning the title but the club’s target remains 40 points and Bundesliga survival. “German champion will only be FCU (Union Berlin),” the Union fans sang as their team stayed top for the fifth consecutive weekend with 23 points. Fischer remains more cautious.

“I think if you set a target you should reach it before setting new ones,” said Fischer, who led Union to Bundesliga promotion through a playoff in 2019. “We’re not the ones who should dream, but who should retain focus.”

Union pushed forward from the start and Haberer got an early reward thanks to a mistake from Dortmund ’keeper Gregor Kobel in the eighth minute. Kobel slipped at an inopportune moment to give Haberer an easy finish.

The Union midfielder got his second goal in the 21st with a low shot inside the left post after Jordan Pefok laid the ball back after good interplay involving Sheraldo Becker. Union should have gone on to score more goals as the home team dominated the opening half.

Dortmund was restricted to just two chances in the first 45 minutes, with the home team’s constant harrying forcing concessions and mistakes from the visitors. Union’s players challenged at every opportunity, winning most, and every 50-50 ball seemed to go their way.

It was exactly how Fischer wants his team to play. The Union coach received the loudest cheer of “Fußballgott (soccer god)” from appreciative home fans before the game began.

Dortmund counterpart Edin Terzić reacted with three changes at the break, including bringing on captain Marco Reus for his comeback from an ankle injury sustained in the Ruhr derby win over Schalke on September 17.

Perhaps inevitably, Union’s intensity dropped and Dortmund had even more of the ball, though Fischer’s team still created the better chances.

Fischer was forced to change in the 67th when American forward Pefok limped from the field with an unspecified injury. The coach said afterward he didn’t know how serious it was and was still waiting for an update from medical staff.

Union’s fans rose to their feet to urge their team on for the final minutes, then celebrated by singing about winning the title.

BAYERN MOVE SECOND

Bayern has never been beaten at home in the Bundesliga by Freiburg. Sunday’s win was its 20th from 23 meetings between the teams in Munich.

Bayern stayed four points behind Union, which was one of the teams to frustrate the 10-time defending champion during its four-game run without a win earlier this season. Earlier, Cologne came from behind to beat Augsburg 3-2 with a late goal from Steffen Tigges.

Emma Watson Seemingly Shades J.K. Rowling While Telling BAFTA Crowd She’s “Here for All of the Witches”

Some viewers think Emma Watson used her moment in the spotlight at the 2022 BAFTAs to subtly address J.K. Rowling.

Over the past few years, the Harry Potter author has come under fire for her controversial comments about the transgender community and gender identity. One of the latest tweets, which referred to a legislative bill on International Women’s Day as “We Who Must Not Be Named Day,” sparked backlash earlier this month. And after Emma graced the stage at the BAFTAs on March 13, a few online users couldn’t help but assume that a few of her words were directed at J.K. herself.

During the awards ceremony, comedian Rebel Wilson introduced the Harry Potter actress, who was presenting an award, by saying that Emma “calls herself a feminist, but we all know she’s a witch.” And as Emma took the podium, she emphasized, “I’m here for all the witches.”

Immediately after the on-camera moment, a few Twitter users praised Emma for her choice of words, with one person tweeting, “I love the shade Emma Watson just threw at JK Rowling at the BAFTAs.” Another echoed the same sentiment, simply writing that “Emma Watson is a queen for this.”
