Digital Hub by ALONE
A Digital Hub for those aged 60-plus is now opened on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. in the Coolaney Community Centre. The Digital Hub is operated by ALONE.
Alone supports older people in a range of areas including visitation support and befriending, support coordination and telephone support. This can be accessed through the centre with Gerard.
If you have any questions or queries please call Gerard (Services Coordinator) at 086 076 10 83 or Conor (Digital Hub Worker) at 086 108 55 92 or better again drop by the centre at the above times to say hello and find out more, you may even learn something.

Congratulations, Erin. What a few week’s Erin Farry has had, she has just completed a four-week assessment at the FAI Centre of Excellence in Castlebar, she’s had a birthday and made her confirmation and has also been selected to play for Sligo Leitrim under-12 ET squad. Everyone at Coolaney Utd is very proud of Erin and would like to wish her and her teammates all the best in their upcoming season.

Dromahair St Patrick’s Day parade draw
Winners of hampers in the Depot draw were Michéal Loughlin and Seán McGoldrick. The winner of the donation of lovely knit/crochet pieces by Susan Sinclair of Drop Dead Stiches was Jonah Durkin and Michael Kelly. €96 raised altogether. Thank you to everyone.
RSS Vacancies
Leitrim Development Company has limited vacancies on the Rural Social Scheme (RSS). We are seeking applications from the public to work on the RSS This is a farmer-friendly scheme where participants work 19.5 hours per week and earn additional income to their farming. Blotto Draw
Next Dromahair Development Association/Tidy Towns blotto draw on Tuesday, March 22. Jackpot €3,750. Tickets for the draw are available through QR code on Facebook poster and lottoraiser/DromahairDA. They are also available in boxes in local businesses in Dromahair. Tickets will be collected at midday on the day of the draw. Watch out for the QR Code stickers that are up in different locations around the village, on blotto boxes and poster, there is one on the glass display cabinet at the Depot. They will give you quick access to the draw online. Cut off point for online sales is 4 p.m. on the day of the draw. Get your tickets now, we need your support. Good luck to everyone.
The Depot
Gardening classes starting in April, it will consist of some tunnel work, visits to gardens and flower beds and getting ideas on what might work best in different locations and lots of tips and advice from Carol. Contact the Depot to register interest.

Spraoi Glas – Dromore West – community ran Organic Fruit and Vegetable Garden.
To join, our Registration Day is Wednesday, March 30, from 3 p.m. at the garden.
We will be gardening each Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
A trained tutor will facilitate us and the harvest is divided between the group.
We will be in action till October. It is €50 to join or €75 for a family.

Recent death
The death took place at her residence Annaghmore, Gurteen on Monday, March 14, of Rita Devaney née McDonagh formerly of Cloonmeen, Cuilmore and Manchester, her passing came just six weeks after the death of her husband John Devaney a native of Ross, Castlebar. A quiet, friendly and unassuming lady, she will be sadly missed by all her neighbours both in the Gurteen community and in Manchester where she and her family had lived for many years. Her remains were removed from her home on Saturday morning to St Patrick’s Church, Gurteen for the Funeral Mass celebrated by parish priest Fr Joe Caulfield Burial took place in Carrentemple Cemetery. She is survived by her daughters Julie and Angela, her sister Bridie, Claregalway, her brother Michael, Cloonmeen, brother – in-law Tom Hynes and her cousin Patricia Flanagan and all her relatives and friends to whom deepest sympathy is extended. May she rest in peace.

The death took place on March 5 in London of Marian Feehan, sister of the late Cyril Deignan – both of whom separately were owners of the Brown Trout Pub, Mahanagh, Cloonloo. Funeral will be in London. May Marian rest in peace.

The death took place in England of Brendan Jordan, who visited his house regurlarly at Knocknashammer, Gurteen He will be sadly missed by all his neighbours and friends whom he always called to and chatted every time he was home. May he rest in peace.

The death took place on March 9 of Stephen Casey, Derryknockeran, Cloonloo and Rochester living at Westport. Sincere sympathy to his wife Annette, sons Damien and Simon and his sister Katie Corcorcan, Townaghmore, Culfadda. May he rest in peace.
Coffee morning
Green Isle Foods hosted a coffee morning for Ukraine on last Sunday, March 20, after the 11.30 a.m. Mass in Gurteen Hall. All donations to Red Cross for Ukraine.
Collection
There will be a special collection for Ukraine – requested by the Irish Bishops from their Spring meeting last week- to be held on the weekend of March 26/27.
Eastern Harps
The Eastern Harps 50/50 draw of €732 last Monday night was won by Dorothy O’Neill Moygara. There were extra prizes for the St Patrick’s weekend: €150 Menswear voucher from Lavins Ballymote was won by Martin Judge, Culfadda and hampers were won by Philomena Kilroy, Cloontia and Dermot Flaherty, c/o Drury’s. Bingo in Gurteen
Bingo is held every Friday night at 8 p.m. in Gurteen Hall with a jackpot of €1,000 in 49 calls. Lotto jackpot raffle €200 and a tea break. Proceeds go to the upkeep of the hall and Eastern Harps Club.
Irish classes
Free Irish classes in St Aidan’s School, Monasteraden will start on Thursday, March 24, from 1.45 p.m. to 3.15 p.m. for 12 weeks.
Cinema Kids Club
Coleman cinema club for kids in Gurteen Co. Sligo continues on this Saturday, March 26, at 2.30 p.m. with Peter Rabbit 2. Spend a lovely afternoon in the comfortable tiered seated theatre. Adults go free and treat bags are available in-house. They look forward to seeing you all soon.
CO. Fleadh entries
The Sligo County Fleadh will take place this year from June 3 to June 5 in Riverstown hosted by the local Branch of CCE. Entry forms are now available from your local branch or they are also available on the internet at sligocountyfleadh.ie. Members of the local Craobh Coleman Branch can get their entry forms at the Coleman Centre, Gurteen. Please note that there is a second entry form for a non-qualifying ‘5 member group’ competition which has been devised by Sligo County Board to encourage our young people to get back playing, following the covid holiday. Details on the entry form. Forms need to be returned to CCÉ branch secretaries not later than Friday, April 1.
MANOR-HAMILTON
Successful Parade
After its two-year absence from the streets of North Leitrim’s chief town, Manorhamilton’s St Patrick’s Day parade made a welcome return on Thursday evening and was thoroughly enjoyed by the great crowd – young, old and in-between – that came out for this special occasion in very favourable weather conditions.
The Manorhamilton St Patrick’s Parade Committee members were very happy with the success of the parade and also its centre piece, namely, the popular floats competition, while the very high standard of all entries was impressive. Expressing satisfaction, a spokesperson for the committee said ‘congratulations everyone for all your hard work and to all who partook in this year’s parade. Prizes will be distributed by committee members’ shortly.
The committee spokesperson also added “we would like to say a huge thank you to our main sponsors – all local businesses, whose contributions are fundamental to the running of this year’s parade. Don’t forget to support our local businesses, they’re the backbone of our amazing community.”

Drivers Course
The Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board (MSLETB) runs a driver theory test course every Wednesday evening in Manorhamilton’s Bee Park Community Centre, between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. for all who wish to train as licensed car, bus and truck drivers.
Regarding the car, bus and truck driver theory test course, the Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Educational and Training Board’s Gary Burke says “our Tutor will prepare you with a clear breakdown and explanation of the various categories’ and provide ‘practise using test runs prior to booking the official test.”

Ukrainian Collection
The Irish Bishops have asked for a Special Collection to be taken up at Masses on this weekend of March 26/27 to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine and especially the families and children who have had to flee their homeland in advance of the Russian invasion. This collection will be taken up ar weekend Masses in Manorhamilton, Glencar and Mullies.
Medjugeorje Pilgrimage
A week-long pilgrimage to Medjugorje will take place from Wednesday, May 25. The pilgrimage Group Leader is Ann Kelly. The travel and seven night’s accomodation costs for each pilgrim will be €739. Fr Brian Conway will be the Pilgrimage Spiritual Director.
