Newspaper heir and playboy Britt Reid is faced with sudden reality when his father dies and he inherits the influential newspaper. When he and his chauffeur, Kato, help rescue a young couple, he realizes how he can give his life meaning. With the help of Kato he develops an alter-ego and calls himself the Green Hornet. Kato is a martial arts expert and mechanic who updates a classic car with armor and weapons. Together they take on the leader of the Los Angeles criminal underground. It’s hard to tell if the writers were going for a comedy or a typical super-hero flick, but they missed on both accounts. The story is full of holes, the acting is wooden and the action is over the top.

The Dilemma
Ronny and Nick have been best friends since college and now their fledging company is on the verge of a huge contract. Ronny thinks Nick and Beth are the perfect couple and uses them as a role model as he plans to propose to Beth. Then he sees Beth making out with another man. He is shaken and doesn’t know what to do. He tried to tell Nick but is unable to, so he seeks advice and then decides he needs proof. There are times when you think this a supposed to be a comedy and others when it attempts to be a serious drama. Unfortunately, it succeeds at neither. The script is very predictable with too many stupid antics. With a different cast and a tighter script this could have made an insightful drama about relationships, infidelity, addiction and misunderstanding. An overall disappointing experience.
