There are not a lot of great TV programs around these days but the three television programs I’m going to highlight here stand above other TV shows as 3 of the greatest series of the 21st century to this point!
The first show I want to recommend is <a href=”http://www.smartreviews.info/the-wire-the-complete-series/138/”>The Wire</a> which was an excellent HBO show which had five seasons. Each of those five seasons takes a look at the city of Baltimore, Maryland from a different perspective. It is a wonderful viewing experience not only as a series that pulls viewers in (similar to the other two shows in you will find below I recall watching many episodes in in just one day) but also as a show that makes great points about what’s going wrong in modern cities.
I don’t want to get into the specifics of these points are, because I think The Wire makes them much better than I could in an article like this one. But I will say that one of the things I really like about this outstanding program is how it really blurs the line between the “bad guys” and the “good guys.” In reality (like in The Wire) there are both bad and good things about most people.
The second series is actually the only one of the three that is still running and that’s <a href=”http://www.smartreviews.info/dexter-seasons-1-2-3-4/139/”>Dexter.</a> This is a show that I didn’t think I would like much when I first heard about it so it took awhile before I finally checked it out. I am very glad that I did. It’s ended up as one of my all time favorite shows. Yes, it’s twisted (a serial killer is the “hero” of the show) but it’s twisted in a very cool way.
The final series I want to recommend as one of the best TV series of the century is the one I have been obsessed with lately and that is probably because it has only recently ended! You can now <a href=”http://www.thenextnew.com/lost-the-complete-series-dvd-blu-ray/264″>order the complete collection of Lost</a> and that’s really the way to go since this is a series that should be watched from start to finish without skipping any episodes.
What I love about this mysterious show is that it is “a huge story” where every episode is an important part of the whole and leads into the next episode. Watch it from beginning to end and avoid all spoilers!
